How to use Discord – EASY Discord Tutorial latest

Discord is a cross-platform voice and text chat application. Discord runs on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS.

Today, Discord can also be used as an app installed directly on your phone or tablet!

No more annoying 3rd party apps such as Skype (if you still use that), which requires users to pay for voice communication over data usage (on Android phones at least)!

Discord no longer requires you to install their web browser plugin in order to receive notifications; simply enable “Allow Notifications” from the Account tab under User Settings and do it anywhere!

Just like Whatsapp and other instant messaging apps: just keep it enabled and forget about it. It will notify you when someone types something in the chat!

To create a new Discord server, go to this page:

https://discord.com/developers/applications and click “New App”.

Give it a cool name, choose a category (events, community), provide a nice picture for your app, and write some information about your server… Then make sure to select the option “Public Bot” because you will be installing the AutoModerator bot on this server! You can also add the other bots that you use frequently.

You will then get an Application Client ID from here: https://discordapp.com/developers/applications/me. Save it somewhere safe in case you ever need to revoke access or remove that app.

After that, open up your phone Discord app, create a new server, and select the “Add Bot” option. Type in the name of the bot (it could be your username if you’re using my example) and paste your Application Client ID somewhere safe. Then click on “Authorize”!

When done correctly, it should show you this:

And lastly, click on the cogwheel at the right side of AutoModerator’s profile photo to configure its permissions! Remember to remove all checkmarks from any role except for “member”, so only members can chat with AutoModerator…

If they have @everyone or @here, they will also need permission to talk in general channels! You can set this to whatever you want, but for the sake of your moderators, don’t give it any extra permissions! Click on “Save Changes” when done.

Once Discord finishes re-loading, click on the cogwheel again and Enable “Allow External Commands”! If done correctly, like in my example below, you will get a confirmation message saying that AutoModerator is now available on Discord!

You should also add your bots so they appear alongside AutoModerator! To do so, simply type [email protected] ~ $1 into a text channel. For example: [email protected] ~ $1 will give you @AetherMD. If someone types [email protected] ~ $2 into a text channel AND there’s no bot by that name, it will send him/her the first result from the autocomplete.

If someone writes [email protected] ~ $help into a text channel, they’ll get this reply if there’s no AutoModerator registered on Discord:

You can also make your AutoModerator say anything you want every time someone uses @Rythm ! To do so, write some Javascript like this (in case of @Rythm ): discord . commands . add ( ‘@Rythm’ , async ( ctx ) => { await ctx . sendMessage ({ “message” : “//echo Not configured!” }); }); // End of configuration ————————————- And then click on Commands under Features in AutoModerator’s profile page.

You can also use the Discord Developer mode to run javascript/Lua directly in your browser by typing // @Rythm into a text channel. It will execute the Javascript code inside that command!

Just keep in mind that you need to allow JavaScript too for this feature to work properly. You can click on “Developer Mode” under Features, which is right beside Commands. Then click on “Enable custom JS”, follow the instructions and close your browser, so it applies correctly. Then reopen Discord afterward…

The possibilities are endless!

And lastly, if you ever want or need to remove AutoModerator from Discord, just visit https://discordapp.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=CLIENT_ID&scope=bot&permissions=0 and replace CLIENT_ID with your Application Client ID. After replacing it, click on “Revoke Access”!

I hope you enjoyed this guide! If you did, make sure to leave a like (pretty please)! And if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments below. Lastly, I’d love to credit all of AutoModerator’s contributors for helping me out whenever I’m having trouble with something. Thanks, guys!
